Chip Franke - Ottawa County Parks Naturalist,
will present a program on the parks greenway initiatives
and give updates on several current projects including the nature education
center, Mt. Pisgah, North Ottawa Dunes and a new Lake Michigan park that is on
the horizon.

From the Cutover to the Coast Guard City: A visual history of land cover change
in Grand Haven, Michigan
Erik Nordman - Department of Biology, GVSU -
The talk will cover Michigan's historic role in timber production, the great
fires of the late 19th century, agriculture's rise and decline, and today's
residential expansion. Implications for bird habitat will be discussed.

Michigan's Important Birding Areas, and Update on the Search for
the Ivory Billed Woodpecker
Caleb Putnam, Michigan IBA Coordinator,
will discuss the history of the IBA program, and update us on the current
locations and emphasis in Michigan. Having participated in the search for the
Ivory-billed Woodpecker, Caleb will also update us on the search, some history,
current search efforts, and potential for success.
