Backyard BirdwatchOur backyard is three miles north of Holland State Park and about 300 yards from Lake Michigan. We feed sunflower and seed year round. The habitat is suburban, with pines and deciduous forest nearby. We have tracked bird visits for 20 years. We tally a count for each sighting of one or more of a species during the week. Birds are listed in the summary by taxonomic order. Let us know if you have any questions or are interested in a particular year's data. Check out our photo album! The Yard List is now updated to include 1987 through 2005; and 2006 will be added soon. The numbers in each cell indicate the number of years each visited our yard during the week indicated.
